Call for Posters for UIC GIS Day 2019
Join the Urban Data Visualization Lab (UDVL) and the University Library on Friday, November 22nd, 2019, from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm to celebrate GIS Day 2019 at the Richard J. Daley Library (1-470). This event is open to the public, and will include a keynote speaker, talks, a panel, a poster session and competition, and a hands on-workshop.
The poster session is an integral part of UIC GIS Day 2019. We welcome content on both research and applications of spatial analysis and visualization contributing to the theme of Community and Global Disparities. The call is open to all professionals and academics (students, faculty, and researchers) from all disciplines, from UIC and other institutions, who use and develop these techniques. Posters will be judged by attendees, and the winners and prizes will be announced at lunch time.
FEE:
Registration fee for accepted poster presentations is waived.
DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:
Deadline to submit abstracts for this call is November 15, 2019.
SETUP AND SESSION INFORMATION:
The Poster Session is scheduled for Friday, November 22, 2018 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. Presenters must be ready to explain their work during the session. Presenters will be able to mount their poster during registration time, from 9:45am to 10:15am.
CONTENT:
All posters must be original work, and include the following:
- Author(s) and affiliation(s)
- Descriptive and concise title
- Clear problem formulation and objectives of the work
- Methodology that addresses the objectives
- Results including figures and/or tables
- Conclusions that summarize the implications of the work
- Contribution to UIC GIS Day 2019 theme; Visualizing Disparities
FORMAT:
Upon confirmation of acceptance, you will be directed to a template to format your poster.
